The coaching is part of a postgraduate leadership module assignment. Its purpose is to explore leadership practice and its impact on teams and organisations, rather than personal development specifically.
Suitable topics include leadership challenges such as:
• leading a team through change or transition
• managing team dynamics, priorities, or performance
• navigating organisational complexity or competing demands
• examining how leadership behaviours affect others
The coaching must focus on workplace leadership issues, not personal or therapeutic concerns.
The coaching will not focus on:
• personal confidence, self-esteem, or imposter syndrome
• mental health or emotional wellbeing issues
• counselling or therapeutic material
If an issue moves outside the agreed leadership focus, this will be addressed through clear contracting.
Participants must:
• be aged 18 or over
• be based in the UK
• hold a leadership role with responsibility for others
• be available for four weekly coaching sessions during March and April
• consent to sessions being audio-recorded for academic purposes
Participants are asked to commit to a 30-minute discovery call on Microsoft Teams, and four coaching sessions, each lasting up to 60 minutes, which may be delivered online via Microsoft Teams or in-person in St Georges, BS22 7SB over four consecutive weeks.
In-person sessions are dependent on room availability.
Sessions are intended to run on a weekly basis to support continuity and learning. However, I recognise that leadership roles can be demanding. In practice, a small amount of flexibility is possible, and one or two fortnightly gaps may be possible if needed. That said, the coaching programme must still consist of four sessions completed within March and April, as this is a requirement of the academic assignment.
Yes. Participation is entirely voluntary, and you may withdraw from the coaching at any time without needing to give a reason.
If you withdraw, or if it becomes clear that the four sessions cannot be completed within the required timeframe, the coaching will simply conclude early. Any material already recorded will continue to be treated confidentially and in line with the consent agreement.
Yes. Audio recording is required to support academic assessment. Recording is a condition of participation.
• Recordings and coaching notes will be used solely for the purpose academic assessment
• All data will be stored securely, treated as confidential, and retained only for as long as necessary
• Any written case material will be fully anonymised, with no identifying details of individuals or organisations
No. The coaching is offered free of charge in exchange for participation in the assignment.
